Automobile accidents are a traumatic and life-changing event that may affect your life and health for years to come, and sometimes permanently depending on the injuries. If you are in an automobile accident, make sure you take photographs of your and the other driver's damaged vehicles, and your injuries if they are visible. Insurance adjusters are infamous for valuing auto claims based on the visible damage to the vehicles. In other words, if your or the other driver's car do not show visible damage, insurance companies will argue you were not hurt, even if you were. It is imperative to get the insurance information or license plate number of the driver who hit you. Try to get a copy of his or her insurance card which is required to be carried in all vehicles. If possible, summon the police and have a police report prepared. Police reports are invaluable in auto accident cases and, without a finding from a police officer that the other driver was at fault (unless you were rear-ended), liability may be contested. Assuming liability is admitted, you entire case is about your injuries and damages. That is why it is imperative to 'immediately' see a doctor and, if warranted, go to the emergency room. If you are seriously injured, being transported by ambulance will show insurance companies you were legitimately injured. Never wait longer than a day or two to be seen by a doctor. When possible, see a M.D. or D.O. rather than a chiropractor. While many chiropractors are qualified and generally know how to treat soft-tissue injuries, usually M.D.'s and D.O.'s are viewed as more credible by insurance companies and only they can prescribe medicine and refer you to physical therapists and other specialists, e.g., orthopaedic surgeons and neurologists. If you retain this firm to represent you on a contingent fee basis (you pay nothing unless there is a recovery), we will handle all communications and correspondence with the insurance company so you can concentrate on getting better, we will make a claim on your underinsured insurance if warranted and available (this can sometimes provide much more coverage than available by the driver who hit you), we will make sure your non-fault medpay is used (in Nevada, it does not have to be paid back out of your recovery), we will make sure you get in to see the proper medical professionals (a M.D. or D.O. on a lien basis meaning you do not come out of pocket any costs) if you do not have your own doctor or health insurance and we will gather all of your medical records and bills so that a proper and complete demand can be made for reasoanble compensation. A high majority of auto accident claims settle. We have a successful track record. If your case is one that does not, we are a full-service litigation firm and will not outsource your case as many T.V. lawyers do. We will file a lawsuit (if warranted) and we will vigorously pursue the maximum recovery possible for you. Our representation will be on a contingent fee basis, meaning you pay nothing for attorney's fees or costs unless there is a recovery. All of our consultations are free of charge and we will come to see you if necesssary.
